Teeth Whitening: A Gradual Transformation
At Max Dent, we believe in a personalized approach to teeth whitening. The gradual technique involves a precise assessment of your teeth’s color both before and after treatment.
To ensure accurate color evaluation, we utilize a special LED flash with a polarizing filter. This technology eliminates unwanted light effects, shadows, and reflections, providing a clear and undistorted view of your teeth’s true color.
By comparing your teeth’s color to a standardized reference scale (Vita Pan Classic), we can determine:
Your teeth’s initial color
Your achievable level of whiteness (which varies from person to person)
Your teeth’s final color after the whitening program (approximately one month post-treatment)
At the conclusion of your treatment, we’ll present you with photographic evidence of your initial tooth color and compare it to your post-treatment photos. This visual comparison will help you appreciate the remarkable transformation achieved by Max Dent.
Sensitivity and teeth whitening: all the important facts
Sensitivity in teeth can be a common side effect of teeth whitening treatments.
Factors Contributing to Sensitivity
- Thin Enamel: People with naturally thin enamel may be more prone to sensitivity.
- Exposed Dentin: If the enamel has eroded or worn away, exposing the dentin, sensitivity can be more pronounced.
- Hot or Cold Foods and Drinks: These can trigger sensitivity in teeth with exposed dentin.
- Acidic Foods and Drinks: Acids can contribute to enamel erosion and increase sensitivity.
